Since 2002, diagenos ( previously Zentrum für Medizinische Genetik (ZMG); Founder: Anna Gencik, MD, Specialist for Human Genetics) combines a department for genetic counselling and laboratories for cytogenetic analysis and molecular genetic diagnostics in one institution. We are a full-service genetics laboratory serving many clients throughout Germany and internationally.

In addition to standard genetic diagnostics, diagenos is continuously engaged in the introduction of new methods as well as in the refinement of existing diagnostic tests to produce assays with greater sensitivity, efficiency and clinical value for reliable and cost-effective patient assessment. Our laboratories are equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation. To guarantee highest diagnostic quality, our work is subject to continual internal and external control programs.

In our molecular genetics laboratory multiple and complementary tests are available for comprehensive coverage of gene mutations. For most genes, the regions of likely functional significance are either sequenced or scanned in a manner that detects virtually all mutations. Tests for heterozygous deletions and gene duplications are available..
